Martin Luther’s 95 theses were about to change the world. But right after the reformer nailed his proclamation to the gates of the church of Wittenberg, Luther was declared an outlaw by Pope Leo X.

Story

Help Martin Luther flee from the city of Worms and guide him and his loyal companions to safety. Embark on countless adventures, collect historical artefacts, and learn more about the history and characters of 1521, while helping the outlawed companions.

Gameplay

Luther and his companions each have four needs that must be satisfied: hunger, thirst, fatigue, and faith. If they are neglected, you will never reach the goal. Be careful to make the right choices in the events you encounter, for without your help, Martin Luther will not reach safety and the Reformation will be over before it even started. The fate of the world as we know it lies in your hands.

Production

The project “Luther – the Journey” was initiated on occasion of the Reformation’s 500th anniversary. The game concept was created in an international cooperation of the studios Target Games and Unger & Fiedler in Germany and Ijsfontein in the Netherlands. Production began in the middle of 2017 with funding from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. Zeppelin Studio realized the complete technical implementation in Unity 5, as well as consulting and providing executive support in game design, project management and deployment.
